I’m currently really wanting a W114/115. My local craigslist has a disappointing lack of them, with the exception of a manual 250C that’s been for sale about as long as I can remember.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Also god damn those interiors, My friend has a ‘71 250CE, and it is a truly lovely thing.
I’m finding that I want a sedan, however, not a coupe.
*flamesuit on* I think they look amazing slammed
That’s not what I would do though, I still prefer the stock look
Do want.

Yeah, I have a W123 and I want the Euro bumpers so it looks more like those. The interior is better on the old ones. But the W123 is vastly safer, still feels more classic. So I have my pros and cons. I wish I could swap the dash somehow.

I was going to buy a W123 coupe, but it had a ton of issues that weren’t disclosed that I found when I looked at it...They do look great with the Euro bumpers, and if I was buying an old Mercedes as a daily I’d probably go with the W123 instead

I’ve been daily driving a 1980 240D lately, such a treat! If you don’t mind a classic benz that sounds like a truck, w115/123 with the OM616 is the way to go. Bulletproof and surprisingly relevant in today’s traffic.

I admire your taste. A friend had one of these, can’t recall the year / engine. But it was a manual, and it was a hoot to drive, if a little...slow.

They can keep up? I wouldn’t expect that, that's awesome

Yeah I don't think any of them could've been considered fast, but I look to satisfy my fast car desires elsewhere. One of these would satisfy a class and gorgeousness desire

Well it isn’t exactly a “fast” car… But honestly, with the 4spd manual it keeps up with traffic just fine. Ride is super smooth, brakes do their job (they can easily be swapped for 126's anyway) and it gets a decent mileage (just under 40mpg, mixed).
Don’t know about the automatic thou...

these are gorgeous cars for sure. im weird in that I strongly prefer us spec lights to the euro units. idk why anyone would want big ugly blurs to defined circle beams inside rectangular housings. mine would be a coupe because no pillars. I think they are all slow as hell and not very sporty so you can keep the 4 speed give me a gasser too.

Anywhere near Columbus OH? I’ve got one you can have for almost nothing. Something is up with the clutch, and I haven’t had time to fix it.
Edit: just saw the Vancouver Craigslist disregard.

There’s a neglected one in my neighborhood. Baby blue diesel.

That's awesome, I've always been wary of those due to perceived incredible slowness, but this changes things that they're usable in traffic

I don’t know which lights I prefer, but I’m with you on the gas, I think I’d want a 280S or 280SE
